About Me

I was born July 8, 2008 at 12:16 in the afternoon, and I was just over 7 lbs. I had some trouble breathing when I first arrived, and I had to stay in the hospital for a little while. I'm all better though and now I live in Collegeville, PA with my Mommy and Daddy, Peter & Meghan McKenney. I think they're the best and I love them! I really love my dogs Mickey and Rory. I like to watch them play - they make me laugh. I love my grandparents and all my aunts and uncles and cousins, and I hope they enjoy hearing all about my growing up and being Maddie Jane. I am getting bigger and smarter every day and soon I will be going shopping with Mommy and getting my nails done. In the meantime, I really like pink, and I love Mickey and Minnie mouse, and my Horton. Stay tuned for what's next!! XO

Ch-Ch-Ch-Changes

Hey everybody! Sorry I have not updated our blog in the past week, but my Mommy and I have been very busy. First, we finally got a new computer and we were able to return Mimi's computer to her - thanks for lending us your computer for so long, Mimi! We took good care of it.
So, we having been playing with our new computer to see what it can do. We're already able to do a lot of new things that Mommy and I are really excited about, like see Amah and Grandaddy! We have a webcam now, so we were able to Skype with them and I could see their faces right on our computer screen! I got to see my Aunt Andi, and my cousins Ailey and Sprague too. It was so much fun and I can't wait to see them again.

I also got a new Exersaucer! I love it! It's pink and green and it has bugs, and lights, and a board on the bottom that moves so that I can jump with it when I get a little bigger. I like to sit in it and stick my hands out to try to pet the dogs when they run by. I also like to watch Miss Spider in it.

Mommy got out my pack and play too, and I'm really having a lot of fun playing in there. All my friends are inside with me, like Horton, and Mickey and Minnie. It's so much fun. I can roll over in there, and nap, and sometimes I even read my friends stories! It's my favorite place to be.

Mommy and Daddy and I were also really excited about the Eagles in the playoffs. Every Sunday we put on our Eagles gear and watched the game! We really thought that this was their year...but maybe next year. We still love you Eagles!! And before you know it, basaball will be here, but I don't know who to cheer for. Daddy said the Yankees, but Mommy said the Phillies are the World Champs so we should cheer for them. I guess I'll have to decide when Spring comes along.

Today Mommy and I took a walk with Cameron, my friend next door, and his Mom, Tracy. It was so nice out today, so we took a long walk and then I went over to Cam's house to play. It was a lot of fun. I rolled over and tried to crawl, and even stood up with Mommy's help. Cam shared his toys with me too. I can't wait until it's warm all the time so that we can do that more often.

Finally, I wanted to tell everyone that I said my first word - Dada. That's right, I said it!! And now that I know how to say it, I say it all the time. Mommy is trying to teach me how to say "Mama" now, but I haven't been catching on to that... ;0)
Well, I better get to bed. Tomorrow is Saturday and Mommy and Daddy will be home with me all day! I can't wait to wake up and play with them.
And I promise next time I won't wait so long to write...
XOXO

Day 2

As you can see behind me, Mommy started taking the Christmas decorations down today (she leaves them up as long as possible because she loves Christmas), so I decided to take that time to check in and see how things are going. I'm so happy that everyone logged on to check out me and Mommy's first blog! We're having so much fun doing this, and we hope that you'll keep checking back...

Today I was really worried about my cousin Ailey Kay. She had a stye on her eye and she had to have surgery to get it removed. She must have been so scared. So Mommy and I prayed for her, and I just heard that she is doing great! She was so brave, and we're so proud of her! Her eye will finally start to get better now. I'm so happy because she is one of my favorite cousins!

Tomorrow mommy and I are going to try and find a new toy for me - an exersaucer! I have one that I'm still too small for, but I'm getting too big for my other toys, like my swing. I need something that I can sit in that has activities because I'm getting pretty bored in my play gym too. Hopefully we find one this weekend! I'm so excited.

I had more sweet potatoes today, and they were ok, but I'm still not crazy about them. I have one more day with them, and then it's on to carrots or squash, but as you can see below, I'm not really interested in trying them either...

Well, I better get to bed. Tomorrow when I wake up Daddy will be home, and I can't wait to see him! Talk to you later! XO

The First One

Today is a day for firsts... To start off, today is our first blog (Me & Mommy). We saw another cute baby's blog today (Thanks, Jack!) and we thought we would join in on the fun! Mommy is home with me now, so she has plenty of time.;-)

As I mentioned, it is a day for many new beginnings, like this afternoon when I had my first vegetable - sweet potatoes! I will be 6 months old tomorrow, so Mommy thinks I'm ready. I was a little unsure of this new foreign substance, and I made funny faces when Mommy fed it to me. She laughed, but I didn't think it was so funny. I had more sweet potatoes for dinner, mixed with some rice cereal, and I decided that it's not so bad after all. Mommy was really hoping I would like them because she said I'm having sweet potatoes for the next 2-3 days..but then I get to try something new again! I can't wait.
After lunch, Mommy read me a book in my room and I sat up by myself for almost the entire story! That's a first for me! Mom was so proud, and she helped me back up when I would tip over. Soon, I'll be sitting up all by myself and I won't even need Mommy's help. Then, it's on to crawling!

I've also discovered how to shake my head back and forth. Mommy says that means "no", but I'm not really sure. I know it makes her laugh when she asks me a question and I shake my head "no." She said I need to learn to nod my head yes now.
I can't wait to show Daddy everything I can do when he comes home tomorrow! He had to go away for work this week, and me and Mommy really miss him. I want to tell him how Mommy set off the fire alarms trying to make grilled cheese, too. He thinks it's funny when she tries to cook.
Anyway, I have to go to get going. Yo Gabba Gabba is coming on, and then I have to get a bath and go to bed.
Talk to you again soon!
